Internet cafes

so here i am in an internet cafe in Florence. The times here have been crazy and so increadibly enjoyable! i love it! My aunt and uncle said I would give my heart and soul to Florence and they were totally right. I have no pictures on me at the moment :( but i hope soon! We jhave seen so much and travelled to Southern Tuscany and Cinque Terre which were both absolutely beautiful. Living with the 4 other people has been awesome because we all get along so well and have hosted a couple dinners for Kim and Clemente. Clemente even tought us to play briscola which is now pretty much my favourite game ever, but that could be the multiple bottles of wine talking! hahah! One of the best nights was for sure sunset at Piazza Michaelangelo, drinking wine and eating cheese with friends and of course Karyn and my excursion to the top of the Duomo's Coppa (or dome). This weekend is Pisa, Beach and Soccer... and i'm sorry this isn't much of a report but I am running low on time...
But for a fun treat everyone will be amused to know that Chad is pretty much Dr. Doolittle as he has been hit in the face by a pigeon flying by and a gecko falling from his ceiling (also onto his face) at 3am in his room! hahha - LUCKY! Hope all is well at home, and next time there will be more details. Love you all!

Perugia

At the airport in Frankfort, Clemente told us that there were complications with our plans to go to Capri and that the weekend trip had been rescheduled for the midevil hilltop cty of Perugia. We won't deny that we were a little disappointed but in the end truly pleased! Perugia is a gem. An absolutely beautiful city built layer upon layer of itself! There was no scheduled tour and our time was spent touring adn enjoying the city and company of new friends. We met our Florence flatmats there adn hit it off with them, totally enjoyable people, Corey and Shauna. We had a couple laughs and glasses of good wine that brought on hilarious memories with everyone including Clemente! Our last night was a specail dinner where Kim and Clemente recgnized the graduating students, truly a pleassure to be here with them!

Stay tuned for Florence soon (complete with some pictures!)

ROMA!

We are both so sorry for our lack of writing on this blog but for our own defence:
1. we did not have access to computers in Rome or Perugia
2. These are the slowest computers ever!!!!!
So, this first entry is entitled ROMA which is an obvious give away to the fact that it will be about our time in rome. As everyone knows we took an overnight flight to rome with a stop over in Frankfurt, Germany. It was long but our plane was one of those new ones with tv's for every seat and the ability to pick what you want to watch.... awesome! food was kind of gross but what can you do!?!!
We arrived in Rome at about 6 pm and went to dinner at a great restaurant with Chad, Clemente, Noreen and Jasmin. We had amazing pasta and great wine before everyone (approx. 40 people) met up at the restaurant with us. Great way to start the trip.
Our hostel over looked a small part of the colloseum and it was nothing more than a hosel, but we got free breakfast and cappiccino. we love our cappaccinoes!
We worked our butts off seeing everything from the forum, to the Vatican, to inside the collosseum and St. Peters. We were totally sick of pizza by the end of our stay and about ready to head to our next location! But we still loved Rome. It is totally worth the hussel and bussel of the city!

Just Over A Week Until Take-off!

So, here we are - almost a week away from take-off... This trip has been about 2 years in the making for Karyn and myself - and I know I am looking very forward to it (as I'm sure Karyn is as well)! I started us this blog address so everyone at home can keep track of us in "the boot." I'm not sure how much time we will be able to spare for "blogging" but keep checking in because hopefully we'll be able to keep you pretty well updated. Guess its time to start packing and actually start the massive pile of laundry I have to go through...

Cheers, linds xo.
